The Juniper ACX5448 is a 1U metro aggregation router with 800 Gbps of full-duplex throughput, forty-eight 1/10GbE SFP/SFP+ ports and four 100GbE QSFP28 ports that channelize to 25G or 40G, running Junos OS on a six-core Intel CPU with 32 GB of memory. Juniper positions it for Ethernet service aggregation in high-density 100GbE metro infrastructures. It ships with two power supply modules (AC or DC) and six fan modules in either airflow direction, and carries PPS and 10-MHz GPS timing outputs. Two sibling models exist: the ACX5448-D with two 200G CFP2-DCO coherent ports and the ACX5448-M with MACsec on its forty-four 10GbE ports.
The ACX5448 is not on Juniper’s ACX Series end-of-life table as of September 2026, so it remains fully supportable, which makes refurbished units a low-cost way to add 10G aggregation with 100G uplinks. When a site outgrows it, the current-generation step is the ACX7100-48L (48 x 10/25/50GbE + 6 x 400GbE, Junos OS Evolved). Note the operating-system change: the ACX5448 runs Junos OS, the ACX7000 family runs Junos OS Evolved.

No. It does not appear on Juniper’s ACX Series EOL table as of September 5, 2026. The older ACX5048 and ACX5096 reached last order on December 31, 2022 and end of support on December 31, 2027.
Juniper has not named a replacement. In the current line the ACX7100-48L covers the same 48-port aggregation role with 25/50GbE and 400GbE.
The base ACX5448 hardware guide does not list MACsec; the ACX5448-M variant supports MACsec on its 44 SFP+ ports.
