Juniper MPC3E-3D-NG Next Generation Modular Port Concentrator For Sale
The MPC3E-3D-NG is one of several Modular Port Concentrators (MPCs) compatible with Juniper MX Series routers. Like all modular MPCs, the MPC3E-3D-NG supports two Modular Interface Cards (MICs). There are a total of 19 compatible MICs available.
The MICs supported on the MPC3E-3D-NG range from high-density, 1G Ethernet devices to low-density cards that support up to 100G Ethernet. In terms of form factors supported on the MPC3E-3D-NG, the MICs available include CFP, CXP, SFP, SFP+ and QSFP+ ports.
There are also MICs available that support 10G and 40G Ethernet.
However, the MPC3E-3D-NG has only a 130 Gbps capacity, which means higher-speed MICs that support 40G and 100G Ethernet can cause the device to become oversubscribed. More specifically, when two 100G Ethernet MICs are equipped, it’s oversubscribed by a 1.5:1 ratio.
As for the Switch Control Board (SCB), the MPC3E-3D-NG requires either the SCBE-MX or the SCBE2-MX in order to set up a redundant fabric configuration. The original SCB, the SCB-MX, does not offer enough bandwidth to support a redundant fabric configuration.
The MPC3E-3D-NG is compatible with several MX Series routers, including the MX240, the MX480, the MX960, as well as the MX2008, MX2010 and MX2020. The MX240 has two MPC slots, the MX480 has six MPC slots and the MX960 has 11 MPC slots.
The Mx2008, MX2010 and MX2020 routers have 10, 10 and 20 MPC slots, respectively.
