The Juniper ACX7100-48L is a 1U cloud metro router built around a 4.8 Tbps forwarding ASIC, with forty-eight SFP ports that run at 10, 25, or 50GbE and six QSFP56-DD ports at 40, 100, or 400GbE. Juniper positions it for service provider metro network aggregation and for edge computing in data centers. It runs Junos OS Evolved on a 2.9 GHz six-core Intel CPU with 64 GB of memory and two 100 GB SSDs, supports Class C timing and the major ITU-T timing profiles with 1-PPS and 10-MHz GPS ports, and ships with two redundant 1600 W power supplies and six dual-rotor fans, in either airflow direction.
Choose the 48L when the job is aggregating many 10/25/50G hand-offs into 400G uplinks; choose the ACX7100-32C for 100G density and MACsec on every port. Note that port 47 on the 48L is limited to 25/10GbE per Juniper’s hardware guide.
