Arista 7060CX-32S Specifications

The Arista 7060CX-32S falls under the Arista 7060X line of switches. At only 1 rack unit (RU) it’s a compact, high-density fixed-configuration switch that supports 1G, 10G and 100G Ethernet speeds and a wide range of optics.

It’s designed with 32 QSFP28 ports, two SFP+ ports and has a maximum capacity of 6.4 Tbps.

One of the biggest advantages of this particular model is that all 32 QSFP28 ports can be configured for five different Ethernet speeds, including the following:

• 100G Ethernet — a total of 32
• 40G Ethernet — a total of 32
• 10G Ethernet — a total of 130
• 25G Ethernet — a total of 128
• 50G Ethernet — a total of 64

You’ll need the right breakout cables and optical transceivers to set up specific configurations, but the ability to customize 32 ports on a single device makes the Arista 7060CX-32S a great option to purchase in bulk — especially for networks that are expected to grow a lot.

Arista 7060CX2-32S Specifications

The Arista 7060CX2-32S technically falls under the Arista 7060X2 line of switches, which is why all model numbers include “-X2,” whereas Arista 7060X models include only an “-X.”

The biggest difference between the 7060CX2-32S and the 7060CX-32S is the supported buffer system. The Arista 7060CX2-32S has a shared packet buffer pool of 22MB to help decongest ports compared with a 16MB shared packet buffer pool on the Arista 7060CX-32S.

Other than that, the Arista 7060CX2-32S is similar to the Arista 7060CX-32S in almost every way. It’s 1 RU in size; it supports 1G, 10G and 100G Ethernet and it supports the same optics. It also has 32 QSFP28 ports and two SFP+ ports, and its maximum capacity is 6.4 Tbps.

In addition, each QSFP28 port on the Arista 7060CX2-32S can be configured for the same five Ethernet speeds as the 7060CX-32S, including:

• 100G Ethernet — a total of 32
• 40G Ethernet — a total of 32
• 10G Ethernet — a total of 130
• 25G Ethernet — a total of 128
• 50G Ethernet — a total of 64

Arista 7060SX2-48YC6

The Arista 7060SX2-48YC6 also falls under the Arista 7060X2 line of switches — all models include “-X2,” as opposed to only an “-X,” as well.

The Arista 7060SX2-48YC6 is another 1 RU switch. But it has a different port configuration than both the 7060CX-32S and the 7060CX2-32S. The 7060SX2-48YC6 has 48 SFP28 ports that support 1G, 10G and 25G Ethernet and six QSFP28 ports that support up to 100G Ethernet.

The QSFP28 ports on the Arista 7060SX2-48YC6 are just as flexible as the QSFP28 ports on the other two 7060X switches; each one can be configured for the following Ethernet speeds:

• 100G Ethernet — a total of six
• 40G Ethernet — a total of six
• 10G Ethernet — a total of 72
• 25G Ethernet — a total of 72
• 50G Ethernet — a total of 12

Another difference between the 7060SX2-48YC6 and the other two Arista 7060X switches is the maximum capacity; the Arista 7060SX2-48YC6 has the lowest throughput at only 3.6 Tbps.
