The QFX5100-48T-AFI model is a
QFX5100 switch that’s designed with 48 tri-speed RJ-45 ports. The biggest advantage of these ports is that they can be configured for 100 Mbps, 1G and 10G Ethernet. This is the only QFX5100 switch with these specific ports.
This model also has six QSFP+ ports. These ports support up the 40G Ethernet. Each of these ports can be broken out into four SFP+ connections. Combined, the RJ-45 and QSFP+ ports, the QFX5100-48T-AFI support up to 72 total 10G Ethernet ports.
The maximum throughput of the QFX5100-48T-AFI is 1.44 Tbps.
Like all other QFX5100-48T switch models, the QFX5100-48T-AFI is designed with only two management ports. One of the management ports is an RJ-45 and the other is an SFP port. Some QFX5100 switches have three management ports — one RJ-45 port and two SFP ports.
The only difference between the QFX5100-48T-AFI and the
QFX5100-48T-AFO is the way the airflow is designed. The QFX5100-48T-AFI has back-to-front airflow instead of front-to-back.
This model has an AC power supply. However, it requires more power than all other QFX5100 switches. The power consumption of the QFX5100-48T-AFI is 335 W.
