The QFX5100-48T-AFO is one of several QFX5100-48T switch models. This particular model is designed with 48 tri-speed RJ-45 ports. These ports can be configured for 100 Mbps, 1G and 10G Ethernet speeds — a feature that’s unique to the QFX5100-48T switches.
In addition to the tri-speed RJ-45 ports, the QFX5100-48T-AFO has six QSFP+ ports, which support up to 40G Ethernet. Even those ports can be broken out into four SFP+ connections. This model supports up to 72 total 10G ports between the RJ-45 and QSFP+ ports.
The maximum throughput of the QFX5100-48T-AFO is 1.44 Tbps.
Like several other
QFX5100 switches, the QFX5100-48T-AFO has only two management ports. One of the management ports is an RJ-45 port and the other is an SFP port. And while many of the QFX5100 switches have three management ports, none of the QFX5100-48T models do.
The QFX5100-48T-AFO switch has front-to-back airflow. The direction of the airflow is the only difference between the QFX5100-48T-AFO and the
QFX5100-48T-AFI, which has back-to-front.
It’s made with an AC power supply, but the QFX5100-48T switches require more power than any other QFX5100 switch. This switch model has a power consumption of 335 W.
