Deployment Scenarios and Industry Applications

• Small Wiring Closets and Branch Offices: The primary use case for the 24Y6 — full Cognitive Campus capability in a cost-effective 24-port GbE form factor for locations that don’t need 48 ports or multi-gigabit speeds but do need enterprise-class features and 25G uplinks.
• VoIP and Desktop Connectivity: 24 ports of 802.3af/at PoE power IP phones and desktops at every desk, with dynamic VLAN assignment separating voice and data traffic automatically via 802.1X.
• Retail Locations: A right-sized switch for individual store locations — PoE-powered point-of-sale devices, digital signage, security cameras, and WiFi access points managed through CloudVision alongside the rest of the enterprise campus.
• Video Surveillance and Physical Security: 802.3af/at PoE powers fixed IP cameras while Persistent PoE maintains power during switch reboots — critical for mission-critical security infrastructure in satellite locations.
• Healthcare Clinics and Satellite Offices: 802.1X authentication and VXLAN segmentation isolate medical devices and patient networks from administrative systems, with the same security and telemetry capabilities as the main campus.
• IoT and Smart Building: FlowTracker device fingerprinting identifies and segments IoT devices automatically, while VRF segmentation isolates building automation controllers, badge readers, and environmental sensors from corporate traffic.
