Arista 7060DX5-32 End of Sale: Last Order February 3, 2027, Support to 2032
Reviewed by Chris Hill, President, BrightStar Systems · Last updated October 16, 2026. Lifecycle dates are from Arista’s end-of-sale notice for the DCS-7060DX5-32 (August 3, 2026). Specifications are from Arista’s 7060X5, 7060X4 and 7050X4 data sheets.
On August 3, 2026, Arista announced end of sale for the 7060DX5-32, its 1RU switch with 32 ports of 400G QSFP-DD. The last day to order a new 7060DX5-32 from Arista is February 3, 2027. Arista will ship software bug fixes for it until February 3, 2030, and its support center and hardware RMA service run until February 3, 2032.
For an owner, that means more than five years of supported life after the last order date. The first thing that ends is the ability to buy a new one from Arista.

What the Dates Mean If You Run 7060DX5-32s Today
A 7060DX5-32 does not stop working on any of these dates. Until February 3, 2030, Arista still fixes software bugs for the platform. Until February 3, 2032, owners with an Arista service contract can open TAC cases and return failed units to Arista. A contract must be in place by February 3, 2028, because that is the last day Arista adds new ones.
After the last order date, the used and refurbished market becomes the only source of additional 7060DX5-32s. That matters most to operators who want every switch in a fabric to be the same model.
7060DX5-32 vs Arista’s Named Replacement and the 7060DX4-32
Arista’s notice names the DCS-7050DX4-32S as the replacement. The older 7060DX4-32 is the other 32 x 400G 1RU switch most buyers compare it with.
| 7060DX5-32 | 7050DX4-32S (Arista’s replacement) | 7060DX4-32 | |
|---|---|---|---|
| 400G ports | 32 x QSFP-DD | 32 x QSFP-DD | 32 x QSFP-DD |
| 10G SFP+ ports | 1 | 2 | 2 |
| Throughput | 12.8 Tbps | 12.8 Tbps | 12.8 Tbps |
| Forwarding rate | 5.3 Bpps | 5.3 Bpps | 8 Bpps |
| Latency (from) | 825 ns | 900 ns | 700 ns |
| Packet buffer | 57 MB | 132 MB | 64 MB |
| Typical / max power | 289 W / 799 W | 353 W / 880 W | 388 W / 989 W |
| Airflow | Front-to-rear or rear-to-front | Front-to-rear or rear-to-front | Front-to-rear only |
| Minimum EOS release | 4.32.0 | 4.28.1 | 4.23.0 |
| Size | 1RU | 1RU | 1RU |
What Actually Differs
Buffer. The 7050DX4-32S has 132 MB of packet buffer, more than twice the 57 MB in the 7060DX5-32. For fabrics with heavy incast or bursty storage traffic, the replacement has more room to absorb bursts.
Power. The 7060DX5-32 draws a typical 289 W, against 353 W for the 7050DX4-32S and 388 W for the 7060DX4-32. Across a rack of switches that difference adds up.
Latency. The 7060DX5-32 forwards from 825 ns and the 7050DX4-32S from 900 ns. The older 7060DX4-32 is the lowest of the three, at 700 ns.
Airflow. The 7060DX5-32 comes in both directions: -F for front-to-rear and -R for rear-to-front. The 7060DX4-32 is front-to-rear only. If your racks need rear-to-front cooling, that rules out the DX4. Whatever the model, every fan and power supply in a switch must match its airflow direction.
Port count is the same. All three are 32 x 400G QSFP-DD in 1RU with 12.8 Tbps of throughput. Optics and cabling plans carry across.
Who Runs the 7060DX5-32
The 7060DX5-32 is used as a 400G leaf or spine switch in cloud, neocloud and GPU cloud data centers, bare-metal and dedicated-server hosting, and colocation facilities. Its low power per 400G port suits operators building out large numbers of identical racks.
Your Options After February 3, 2027
Keep running it and hold a spare. For most owners this is the simplest path through 2030. Keep at least one tested spare of the same part number and airflow, so a failure is a swap rather than an outage.
Buy more of what you already run. If a fabric is built on 7060DX5-32s, adding matching units keeps one software image, one optics plan and one spares pool. Used supply will be at its best in the months around the last order date.
Move to the 7050DX4-32S. It is Arista’s named replacement, with the same 32 x 400G layout and more than twice the buffer, at somewhat higher power.
Retire and sell. When 7060DX5-32s come out of a fabric, BrightStar buys them. Send the part numbers and quantities and we will make a written offer.
Buying a Used 7060DX5-32 from BrightStar
