Arista Networks publishes end-of-sale (EOS) and end-of-life (EOL) notices for each DCS-series switch that exits its product portfolio. Each notice defines two key milestones: End of Sale (the last day customers can place new orders, also referred to as Last Day to Order) and End of Life (the last day Arista provides hardware support, TAC support, and software maintenance — typically 3 years after end of sale on Arista’s legacy three-year policy or 5 years after end of sale on the modern five-year policy).

How To Read These Dates
- End of Sale (Last Day to Order): Cited from Arista’s individual EOS notices where verified. After this date, the platform can no longer be purchased new from Arista — refurbished hardware remains available.
- End of Life / Last Day of Support: The last day Arista provides hardware warranty, TAC support, and software maintenance. After this date, hardware operates normally but receives no further Arista-side support.

Arista End of Sale vs End of Life
Arista publishes specific milestones in each end-of-sale notice. End of sale is the first milestone — after this date, the platform is no longer sold new but remains under software maintenance, TAC support, and hardware warranty for the rest of the lifecycle window. End of life is the final milestone — after this date, no further Arista support is available.
Most current Arista platforms follow a five-year end-of-life policy. Selected legacy platforms followed a three-year policy. Within the support window, Arista also publishes per-platform dates for: end of new software releases, end of software maintenance, end of hardware warranty, and end of TAC support. The Arista 7280 family covers the deep-buffer 7280R / 7280R2 generations used at carrier edge, internet exchange, and data-center interconnect. The DCS-7280SR-48C6 and DCS-7280TR-48C6 reached end of sale on December 20, 2023 with end of support scheduled for December 20, 2028.
