The Juniper PTX10003-80C is a 3U fixed-configuration packet transport router designed for space-constrained internet exchange locations, remote central offices and embedded peering points. It is built on Juniper’s custom ExpressPlus silicon and provides 8 Tbps with up to 16 x 400GbE (QSFP56-DD) or up to 80 x 100GbE (QSFP28) ports, with 2 x 3000 W AC/HVDC power supplies. Interfaces run at line rate at 10, 25, 40, 100, 200 and 400 GbE, and the platform delivers inline AES-256 MACsec encryption up to 100 GbE line rate.
Internet exchange and peering points: high 100G port density where rack space is limited.
Remote central office and metro core: 400G uplinks with dense 100G hand-offs in 3U.
Encrypted 100G interconnect: inline AES-256 MACsec on 100GbE links.
The two PTX10003 models share the same chassis, silicon and feature set and differ in capacity: the PTX10003-80C is 8 Tbps with up to 16 x 400GbE or 80 x 100GbE ports and two 3000 W power supplies; the PTX10003-160C is 16 Tbps with up to 32 x 400GbE or 160 x 100GbE ports and four 3000 W power supplies. For the 1U and 2U alternatives, see the PTX10001-36MR and PTX10002-36QDD, and our PTX Series buying guide.
Every unit BrightStar Systems supplies is tested on our 9-point process and covered by our 1-year in-house warranty for end users (90 days for resellers). Request a quote with the model and the number of power supplies you need; we also stock the PTX10003-RAILKIT-3U rail kit. We buy surplus PTX10003 units as well; see our sell Juniper equipment page.
